Tried this place because I had no choice needed something quickly as my husband had surgery next door. I ordered 1/2 french connection sandwich and 1/2 sandwich turkey pesto with two small soups. Food was prepared super fast and the cook handed me the order and said I upgraded you to full sandwiches at no charge. The sandwiches were amazing huge and full of meat and tasty. The soups were delicious we had the tomato basil soup and shrimp chowder. Would definitely recommend.

(Snacked 12/19/16 M @ 9:15am): Love was in the air with my beverage, and I didn't mind tweeting about it! I found myself at Lovebirds Café & Bakery simply by happenstance because of its proximity to the Fillmore Gold Line Station which was a meeting point for an all-day excursion. I honestly had no plans to purchase anything, but I arrived early, had time to kill, wandered in, and before I knew it had a drink in my hand! Would this chance encounter be my last or would I return for another impromptu purchase!?: Hawaiian Berry ($4.95) - A 20 fl. oz. blend of coconut, pineapple, blackberry, and strawberry, this fruity concoction was tall and thick with all the vitamin-C I needed for the day. It may've been the wrong decision to order this cold icy drink on such a chilly morning, but there was no turning back! The coconut and strawberry flavors were the ones that stood out with hints of pineapple and nary any blackberry. The color had a carrot and salmon hue primarily from the strawberries. This beverage definitely was a meal unto itself and held me over on the hour-plus bus ride. I'd get this again...but please add more pineapple - shaka! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=4S8nfVCV1-eJuvznaPsNvQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Service - Pretty painless and seamless. I took a few minutes to scan the menu until a descriptive drink title caught my eye. As my drink was being made, I quickly went to use the bathroom. When I returned, the young gentleman behind the counter placed it down in front of me. I paid and was off to an empty table before I met other Yelpers who played hookie this day and then boarded a bus. Parking (Varied; $12.00 All-Day this instance) - Since I was in the area solely to meet a shuttle bus for an all-day Yelp event, I parked at the adjacent Fillmore Gold Line Station five-story structure where Levels 1-3 were for public parking (240 spaces; $12.00 maximum) and Levels 4-5 were for the Metro (160 spaces; FREE). Conveniently, there was an electronic sign that showed how many Metro parking spots were available. Sadly, I left my TAP card at home and was stuck with being charged. I noticed a nearby pay lot that "quoted $5.00" but unsure for how long. And, it appeared there may've been other parking options in the area whether street or otherwise. However, I was lazy and conceded in parking defeat. Next time, I planned to Metro it! Atmosphere, décor, ambience - Your garden variety coffee, pastry, and smoothie shop with more of an ice cream parlor feel to it with its large display cases which had more of a retro appeal. Colorful menu boards https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=kZPBpX7lAIKwPnfJJpR0fg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw hung high on the wall behind the counter while several framed pictures covered other sections of the walls throughout. There was a quasi-separate seating area filled wth tables, chairs, and I believed a couch around the corner from the order counter; whereas, I sat at one of the tiny tables in front of the counter. Plenty of natural lighting came through the large glass doors and walls while a perimeter of long electric lights hung down from the high ceiling brightened things up. There were no TVs but couldn't recall if there was any background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=mNvD95x6X-kJyyMKJs5jSQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Attire - Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Overall, Lovebirds Café & Bakery was a charming layover as you made your way to or from the Fillmore Gold Line Station. The convenience factor was a BIG plus, and once you entered and looked at their menus they offered a nice asortment of treats that helped to start your day, a light lunch, or something on the way home. I didn't know if these items were available, but if boba drinks and apple fritters were offered, I'd certainly return! I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $5.00 BEFORE any discounts or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 4.0 STARS

A small little place off Raymond in Pasadena that delivers great fair! I came in there to pickup a to go order and the staff was all very nice and the food was great! Just as a heads up - on the day I went in, the Soups of the Day had sold out - so just keep that in mind if that is your thing. Otherwise a nice little cafe/bakery to grab a bite that is very affordable especially when you are in Pasadena.

Came here four days ago for lunch - was surprised to find a Lovebirds cafe here - since the only one I've been to was in Alhambra but this was so much closer to me. The only probably was probably parking - only street parking. I had the combo - half sandwich and salad....I tried half the French Connection Sandwich and a Caesar salad. I didn't like the cheese powder they put in the salad but liked that they separated the dressing. The sandwich - which was smoked turkey, bacon, tomato and onions...they definitely stacked a lot of turkey into the the sandwich which became a little overwhelming so I took out about half of it - though I love the bacon because it was crumbled and crunchy...sometimes when it's a strip of bacon it's can get chewy but crumbling it or making it into bits gives it a crunchy texture. My boyfriend had the Chicken Gumbo soup and half of a sandwich as well. The soup was pretty spicy but was made with a lot of ingredients so it was pretty tasty. His half sandwich - Egg Salad served on Jewish Egg bread was pretty good. He also had a Watermelon Lemonade - it was super light but refreshing. I had a Latte which was also pretty good - smooth and creamy. The service was pretty good but the place was kind of small so not super ideal when it's busy - not a lot of tables/seats. Another thing I do like was their menu of drinks - lots and lots of choices - gotta come back to try some of their smoothies - they sound good. Another thing I like is their choices of bread - they had about 8 -10 choices of breads you can have your sandwich on. They are located near the metro station and there is an art school nearby as well as other businesses - super convenient for people around the area to grab lunch or breakfast.

The "secret" Lovebirds Café & Bakery. This one has been open for six months or more. I don't understand why there are no reviews and it is not even mentioned on the Lovebirds Café & Bakery website. I went today for an egg, ham, and cheese croissant. Big and tasty! The last time I was here I had a sandwich that was typical Lovebirds....big, fresh, and delicious. I have never had a bad sandwich at any of the Lovebirds locations. There is parking in the nearby Metro lot or if you are riding the Metro Gold Line you can exit at the Fillmore station and walk a few steps for bit to eat, ice cream, or a hot or cold drink.
